As an ambitious young girl growing up in Hong Kong , Rachel was eager to fulfill her dreams. It was 17 years ago when she decided to make her new home the United States. She landed a job as a makeup artist with Laura Mercier. This experience proved to be extremely valuable to Rachel as she learned all about skin care, which sparked her interest in other types of body care.
When the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley opened in 2006 Rachel jumped at the opportunity to work in the Spa. She admits that the most challenging aspect of her job as Lead Therapist is balancing her schedule. However, it is all worth it as she believes that passing along her techniques and concepts and learning from others is highly rewarding. Rachel knows that the unique Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley Spa experience would not be possible without her team. They are professional and go the extra mile to build and maintain relationships with the community and guests.
Rachel’s world is all about helping other people relax which leaves us wondering how she unwinds. She is passionate about exercise and good health. She embraces workouts to strengthen muscle tone, improve cardio, and affirms that yoga is vital to maintain balance and harmony in her life. Her second favorite way to relax is food! A great food experience can be very memorable. She really enjoys cooking but when she decides to eat out she can go from luxury to street food and be happy and satisfied either way.
Rachel’s favorite treatment at the Spa is the Exotic Coconut Rub and Milk Ritual Wrap because it is excellent for smoothing and softening the skin. A popular treatment right now is the Elemis Facial which was added to the Spa last September.

What trends have you been noticing this year with health and wellness?
Juicing and Detoxing are very popular, as well as retreat weekends. People are beginning to understand the necessity of long term health and longevity as opposed to quick fixes.
We know that all of the Elemis products are great, but what do you think is a “must have”?
The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream- very hydrating for the skin and is anti aging.
What is your newest treatment/ product in the spa?
The NuFace system. It is a micro current facial toning device that stimulates the facial muscles and instantly produces a younger appearance.
